CIP FAQ

Questions

What is Community Impact Productions (CIP)?

Simply put, it is a Christian-faith based, non-profit organization using the vehicle of musical productions, and allowing opportunities for various individuals to participate with their Godgiven talents and abilities, to raise excess funds in support of humanitarian efforts by other organizations to tangibly help those that are less fortunate in our surrounding area.   ---> Questions

When was it started?

It began in early September of 2005.   ---> Questions

How many productions has CIP created and performed?

To date, CIP has produced 4 original creations, using a multitude of sources, and all styled in the tradition of Broadway musical-variety and the American Theater.   ---> Questions

Have there been many churches involved?

There have been close to 40 different churches represented by those who have participated over the span of CIP’s short existence and nearly a dozen different denominations.   ---> Questions

What groups or organizations have received CIP’s financial support?

The Red Cross and Samaritan’s Purse for their work in the Gulf Coast relief effort and their ongoing and presently active partners at Cooperative Christian Ministry.   ---> Questions

Who can join?

Just about anyone with a passion to use their God-given giftings who can commit to reaching beyond themselves…and it’s easy. Either plan to attend the regular KICKOFF events or contact CIP directly.   ---> Questions

What if I can’t sing, act or dance…can I still be involved?

Absolutely…there are many areas “behind the scenes” in which to serve. Some of them are administrative, marketing/advertising, promotion, web-hosting, computer assist, costuming, makeup, set development and staging, audio, lighting, hospitality, clerical and much more.   ---> Questions

Are there any costs involved?

Yes… there is a participation entrance fee ($15.00 to help offset costs of music, rehearsal CDs, etc.), love offerings are received regularly to help support CIP and occasional costume/wardrobe costs (kept minimal) when needed with respect to the needs of each production. Individuals are informed early. There are also, occasionally, special outings and/or events that might incur some cost.   ---> Questions

Any age limits?

Not really, although to be in the adult choir, one must be at least 18 years old. Many times, children and teens are asked to join in areas of the cast or in specialized vocal ensembles.   ---> Questions

What is given to the less fortunate from CIP?

Monetarily, at least 10% of all incoming funds, donations, contributions, ticket sales, etc. goes to CCM. In addition, emphasis is made towards arranging opportunities for CIP’s folks to join in “hands-on” functions, events and community services to assist those in need. Also, a “food drive” to collect non-perishable food is held at each production.   ---> Questions

Do you have to audition?

No, not for the adult choir or any teen or children’s choir as they are developed per presentation. It is asked of individuals to go through a musical evaluation for vocal ensemble, solos, narratives and dialogues, etc. These are relatively easy and usually take about 5 minutes during the designated times they are conducted. Dramatic roles also require a brief evaluation.   ---> Questions

How much time is required?

Choral rehearsals are usually every Thursday evening from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. As it draws closer to each presentation performance date, a few additional and specialized rehearsals are also scheduled and can be longer and on additional days. They are extremely necessary and mandatory. All important dates and scheduling is planned well in advance and given out to all the participants at the time of joining, in the form of a production schedule and everyone is asked to commit to it and follow it carefully. Attendance is paramount!   ---> Questions

What’s the schedule like?

It is always CIP’s goal to keep the schedule as “balanced’ and “considerate” as possible. However, as it gets closer to “show time” it inevitably gets busier and a bit more hectic. CIP strives to produce the very finest in quality entertainment and this requires time and effort, for which no excuses are made.   ---> Questions

Is the message of the Gospel and Jesus’ saving grace shared?

Absolutely, in whatever opportunity is presented to CIP but most certainly in the very fabric and framework of each presentation and outreach event!   ---> Questions
